DFS is a large feed and nutrition company in the United States delivering nutrition through innovative products and services that support the food chain.

Position:
This position troubleshoots, solves issues, repairs production machinery, and other electrical and electronic equipment including PLC’s.  This person will have a broad spectrum of experience including, welding, process equipment maintenance (screw and drag conveyers, elevators, mixers, scales, coolers, etc.), boilers, mechanical plumbing, and air compressor systems.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responds to manufacturing personnel calls to repair machinery and equipment.
  • Installation, repair and maintenance of electrical/production equipment.
  • Ability to work with high and low voltage electrical up to 480 volt 3 phase power.
  • Read and review electrical blueprints to assist in installation, repair and improvement of equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting computerized controls (PLC)
  • Removal and installation of varying sizes of equipment, including electrical, gearboxes and belting.
  • Repair of drag and screw conveyors, roll changes and repairs on defective equipment, elevators and other process handling equipment.
  • Maintain records, implement and follow preventative maintenance routes and routines.
  • Assist in fabrication and welding.
  • Works to improve the efficient and economical operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with training of inexperienced personnel.
Qualifications:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Knowledge of basic computer functions
1-3 years maintenance experience preferred

The performance of this position will require exposure to agricultural settings including all weather conditions.  Under certain circumstances the employee may have to use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, mask and hearing protection.
