Lead the effort of building relationships with producers and industry influencers resulting in business growth opportunities in the NW Iowa area.  Evaluate and build upon those opportunities to enhance DFS business with current and potential customers.  Develop and leverage an intimate understanding of swine producers' production footprint and anticipate ongoing opportunities to bring more value to them and the DFS brand. 
 
DFS is the eighth largest feed and Nutrition Company in the United States delivering nutrition through innovative products and services that support the food chain.  We are looking for a person to join our team as a Business Development/Account Manager in NW Iowa.
 
The successful candidate will be an outgoing, detail oriented person that will handle customer questions in a friendly, enthusiastic way.  The Business Development/Account Manager will assist customers and potential customers to support them in realizing the value proposition that DFS brings to the table. 
 
The successful co-worker will have:

o    Feed Sales experience (hog and turkey preferred)
o    Strong existing relationships in NW Iowa
o    Positive reputation in NW Iowa
o    Believe and follow the Core Values of DFS - Abide by the Core Values set forth by the organization
o    Prefer understanding of livestock and livestock feeding; a BS in Animal Science/Nutrition preferred but not a requirement or Associate's Degree with an equivalent combination of education and/or experience

What will you do?

·         Identify untapped feed customer opportunities, build relationships, develop an understanding of needs. 
·         Work with current DFS feed customers in the Newell area (account management)
·         Develop relationships with independent swine producers and regional/area supervisors within the larger systems
·         Build an understanding of what producers’ plans are and thus their needs
·         Develop interested prospects and bring opportunities to DFS swine producer customers
·         Work with DFS Grain/operational employees and extend the relationship into livestock production
