Position Title: Utility Personnel

Job Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Plant Manager/Location Lead

Amount of Travel: Minimal, between sites.

Schedule: 7:00AM-5:00PM, Flexibility Required

Job Summary:

Primary responsibilities are to aid in production and maintenance at the mill, receive ingredients, feed retrieval, housekeeping, mill operations, and deliver animal nutrition products when needed on time to the right bin, at the right place in a safe and professional demeanor.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Follow and stay up-to-date with all DOT regulations.
  • Follow processes and procedures to ensure compliance with DFS and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, ISO, HACCP, GMP, FSMA, etc.).
  • Responsible for maintaining assigned equipment and report any malfunctions.
  • Maintain good customer relations by representing DFS with high integrity.
  • Report any damage to customer property or vehicle immediately.
  • Be aware of disease control from farm to farm and on site
  • Serve on cross functional teams and offer advice to management as needed.
  • Be aware of and accept new technology.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of mill operations and feed delivery.
  • Receive ingredients, both bulk and bagged.
  • Act as a back up to all operations within the location.
  • Act as a trainer to all operations in the feed mill.
  • Support labor fluctuations in the mill, outside operations, receiving, and delivery when needed.

Qualifications:

 

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred

Computer Skills: Knowledge of basic computer functions

Able to read, write, and speak English.

Be familiar with agricultural production.

Pass post offer drug test.

Work in adverse weather conditions.

Follow all safety rules and regulations

The performance of this position will require exposure to agricultural settings including all weather conditions. Under certain circumstances the employee may have to use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, mask and hearing protection.
